I am a journalist and an academic originally from Nigeria. I hold a PhD in Politics and Communication Studies (War and Peace Studies) from Liverpool/Liverpool Hope University, UK. I have a background in print, radio and TV journalism. I also hold a master’s in International Journalism from City University London, and a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from University of Abuja, Nigeria. My areas of research interest are Media and Religious violence, Boko Haram and Global ‘Jihadism’, Identity Politics, Radicalisation/Home-grown terrorism and Conflict Resolution/Conflict Reporting/Post-Conflict Reconstruction. I have nearly completed a book. I am also a peace campaigner and have facilitated talks on race relations and community cohesion across the UK. I contribute to panel discussions on peace/war issues for TV and radio stations that include the BBC Hausa/African Services, VOA, RFI, Al Jazeera English, France 24, TVC and Islam Channel.
